How to repair the area where the canvas attaches to the camper

The plastic molding has split and I can now see outside. It's at the point where the plastic molding connects to the camper. The screw hole has expanded and created a split. Do I need to replace the entire bed area?

I had that same problem. I just got some short sheet metal screws and some washers small enough in diameter to fit inside the plastic molding. I drilled the holes where I was going to add the new screws first so as not to split anything and then screwed in the screws and washers. I added 4 or 5 to each side (mine was splitting at the top curve of the bunk). It worked so well and seemed so much stronger after the repair that I made the same additions on my front bunk even tho it was not splitting like the rear bunk was. The entire repair probably took me no longer than 20 minutes.
