Hybrid Travel Trailers on the way Out??
Hey Gang, Being the happy owner of a Jayco X23B, I read the forums here almost daily. But I also like to go, not as often, to RV-Net and read the threads in their Hybrid section.
One thread in particular caught my eye. It made mention how there aren't any hybrids being shown at RV shows. It led to a discussion of maybe hybrids being on their way out.
Here's the link to the thread:
http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fu...d/27474898.cfm
What do you all think? Are hybrids going to be extinct???

The Minneapolis RV show has always had a lot of HTTs on display. I guess we will have to see this year.

Just came back from Cincy/Dayton show. There were two there. All the shows we go to it's always mostly 5th wheels and large travel trailers, not alot of smaller RVs.

That's an interesting observation. We're trading in the X23B for a new 5th and the dealer said they were happy that I had the hybrid to trade as they are really popular. The second post in the thread says that there were a couple at the show but no "deals" which suggests their popularity. If they are this popular then I'll bet the manufacturers will continue to crank 'em out. Kind of a side-trip to the discussion but a Hybrid-Hybrid might be interesting (a TT with both a traditional bedroom and 1 or 2 fold outs for the overflow). "Hybrid-Hybrid", didn't know what else to call it.

The Indy RV show had plenty of them. Also had a few brand new "retro" campers that looked like they came from the 50's/60's.

Lots of smaller TT's, hybrids, popups, along with 5th wheels and pushers at the Cleveland show.

Doesn't matter to me one way or the other. I got my 23B and it stays safely in a building when not at the campground so it will last me many many years.

I just went to the RV show in Edison NJ - a lot of Forest River hybrids, but no Jaycos.

Darn it, looks like we missed it!! And last week-end would have been perfect to make the trip up from down here in E'Ville. The weather was really nice.

We just brought home our brand new X23 and we searched everywhere before finally finding one. Everything we kept finding was either WAY WAY too big or just too small and cramped. I don't think they're on their way out, but even if they are I'm happy I got mine! Now all I have to do is get camping!

I think there is always going to be a market for pop ups and hybrids due to the fact that not every one has a big truck or wants to own one. Although it is true that they are coming up with some affordable tiny travel trailers.. but they are pretty cramped.

I went to a RV show in East Lansing 2 weekends ago, and they had some hybrids. The Jayco X23B is what i have, and they had a couple of those. Along with other manufacture's. We bought ours last year and while shopping, we've always found that they typically are on the market for only a short time period.
I think some of the other larger scale TT's or 5th wheels can be showcased at those shows, I've been to shows where they are awarding "Best in Show" RV's. So it's almost like you either get the upscale, marble floor, stack washer dryer, campers, or 5th wheels, or pop ups.

I don't think they are on the way out. We have a 23j and love ours, people that see it always say how roomy it is and have also considered buying one.
