Angry Jayco Jay Feather 7 19xud Front Cap Gap

Does anybody have a gap in the bottom part of the front cap between the cap and the floor? I have a 1/2-inch gap completely across the inside where it joins the cap and floor - from the plant! I can see the diamond plate from the inside - it is dry right now,but a lot of dirt inside. Any ideas on how to fix the problem? It was hide on the storage side with a small piece of paneling covering the joining area and a piece of paneling limiting the access to the other part showing the cap area. I had to take off the two pieces of paneling to expose the cap where it should completely join the floor. You can also see the gap on the other side by looking in the water heater area. The bottom of the diamond plate was also open, so water could, on a rainy day saturate that front area. I was lucky I believe to see the large gap with the lights off in the day looking to do a mod in the storage area and seeing light through the gap - the camper has only been camping three times - I would advise all to check their front area - this can really be bad if not repaired or if you have already been through a rain storm !!!!

Jayco Plant Response

I wanted to share the factory response to the problem- what do you al think?

Good Afternoon XXXXX,

Thank you for providing those photos to review. There should not be a gap in that area. It appears sealant is missing. Please add sealant in that area. I did not see any damage done to the trailer. If there truly is, please contact an authorized Jayco dealership for further assistance.

Thank you,

Does anybody really think sealant will fix the problem with the 1/2-inch gap?
