Kiwi 17A Lift Kit

Has anyone had success adding a lift kit to this model? Any help would be appreciated. We're tired of scraping and braking release valves.

Thank you.

It would it is similar with anything with Dexter axles, prob any trailer axles, go to tractor supply or your favorite auto parts store and get the correct dia. axle spring perches. Weld on and put axle on other side of springs attached with new u-bolts.

Not sure If you have torsion bars though, not sure what to do there besides a block (or bracket of some sorts)
between trailer frame and mount for axle...

Welcome!

We had an '03 Kiwi 17a for 10 years. They didn't offer a lift kit back then. I only scraped it a couple of times in the first season. Then I learned what to avoid and never scraped it again.

Your trailer has Dexter torsion axles. Not all Dexter axles can be lifted. Somewhere on the axle is the model number. Find that and give Dexter a call to see if you can even get a lift kit.

Short of that you'd have to fabricate your own lift brackets. Several people on this forum have done it.

Do you have clearance to put a larger diameter tire on?

Peace,

Greg

I have an 01 Kiwi 17a and with the help of a friend, we put a 4" lift on it.
Just recently I added 15" wheels and tires since by lifting it, more wheel clearance was created. Overall lift was 5-1/2" over stock.

I raised my 23B with a kit I made myself.

Yes I've been machining for 47 years. Its definitely not the easiest way to make a lift, but it is sturdy.
