Leaking canvas
Just got our X17Z this spring and it's been great. This weekend we were out in a thunderstorm and no leaking for the first wave of the storm, then with the second wave of thunderstorms, leaking. Just mainly drips. In the morning the inside of the canvas was covered in water droplets that seem way too numerous and large to be condensation. I've attached a picture. We have not done anything to treat or condition the canvas. The dealer said that the canvas came treated. Any ideas out there?

Not leaking. The canvas is vinyl covered so if it leaks it will generally only leak at the seams. That's condensation. I had it that bad once or twice.

You would be surprised how much condensation a series of storm waves will produce inside your unit. Basically, you've got 100% humidity outside. These things are far from air tight, and you get a good cold rain (high top thunderheads) and yes, you could very easily get that much condensation inside with a good temperature differential.

We wondered if it was condensation, but it seemed like way too much. Any suggestions for how to reduce the condensation in the trailers.

We leave the canvas widows open a bit at the top on each end. This has worked well. Even when it was 30 degrees out and toasty inside this past spring.

I use my heated mattress pads a lot with the canvas windows open. Fan going in the bathroom (vent open), and my ceramic heater on (weather permitting). If it is hot or too humid, I do run my AC on low.
So far since I get as much ventilation in as possible, my condensation is almost eliminated. I also purchased a small dehumidifier (haven't tried it yet) to help pull out some of the moisture.

Looks like condensation, sounds like with the rainy conditions (humidity) and the difference in the air temps from outside to inside created a large amount of condensation!! you may want to look into some PUGS popupgizmos.com... I swear by them...living in Central Florida I deal with all kinds of temp and weather changes and havn't had the humidity or condensation problems on the tent ends since I started using them!!!

We owned an X23B before the 5th. The PUGs will help as will having a window or vent open. I installed a Maxxair vent cover and kept the bath vent open all the time. We did not have condensation probs.

My issue with PUGs was the look, I wasn't too wild about them. However, having said that, we were on vacation last week at Gulf Shores, Ala. While there, we went thru the SP campground and we saw a PUP with the Pugs on it. I must say, it didn't look as bad as I thought it would!
