LED Interior Lights Recalled 2017 Jayco

We bought our 2017 x23b at the end of last year and plan on our first trip shortly. We received a recall notice that says they should not be lit for more than an hour. I'm assuming they overheat and could cause a fire. We ordered the replacement lights from the dealership, but it can take a while to get them from Jayco. I guess we have to monitor the lights carefully until we get the replacements. I'm just giving a heads up to others who may have a 2017 unit and not be aware of the problem.

That's for the notice. I am picking up my 2017 x23f tomorrow and will ask about it.

There is a thread on this. I'm surprised they are sending you the replacements. I believe others were told they had to go to the dealer and have the dealer do it... I'll see if i can find the thread.

Ordered them from the dealer. The dealer will install them, but they haven't received the replacement lights yet.

My wife and I received a safely recall letter from Jayco in May 2017 stating the low profile surface mount LED lights in our 2017 Jay Feather 23RLSW travel trailer may produce extreme temperatures during normal use that may cause light failure. Some of the failure characteristics are noted as melting of plastic housing, smoldering and charred/scored ceiling panels. The extreme temperatures increase the risk of fire resulting in personal injury and property damage.

My wife and I contacted our Jayco dealership in May and the service department has ordered our lights. As soon as they come in they will contact us for recall work. The dealership also stated upon completion of the work we must sign off on the recall safety notice agreeing to the work performed.
