Light/fan unit on X17Z

Hello, I have 2 of the hanging light / fan units that I used on my Viking camper above the beda. I have just bought (but dont have yet) an X17Z and was wondering if the 17Z trailer lights has the push in power connector so I can use the light units in my new trailer?

If the 2012 17Z is the same as the 2010 17Z, then the answer is no. You would need to swap out the factory lights with lights that have the power ports.

My 2010 did not have the 12 volt jack, but my dealer fished the wires over and installed jacks a few inches from the lights toward the beds.

Our family loves those lights in the 19h. We had the plug in the last pop up but, it was too far away from the shepard pole to work. Found a headset extension cord we Radio Shack and worked great!!!

I agree. I have a good/great dealer, Rhone's Travel Trailers, near Williamsport, PA. When I have had a last minute problem, they have always been able to work me into their schedule, so we could go on our trips.

Here are 2 pictures of the 12 volt jacks my dealer installed. Rhones Travel Trailers used the same jacks that Jayco uses, so they look factory.

Light/Fan

Finally got the power ports for our fans!! Thanks for the great pics!! Just a few ??'s before the install:

Do ya know what kind of fastners/screws that was used?
Seems like the tension on the coiled cord would want to pull loose from the ceiling? It's kinda fiber board type material. Just wondering, don't wanna poke hole in ceiling then have it pull loose later. Thanks...Shep

Your speaker is closer to the bunk than the light is? They are held in with screws. I don't know if there is any kind of anchor used or not. If there is a lot of tension and you want to reduce it, you can use a headphone extension cord to make the cord longer.

Jepotts - I too was wondering the same thing. We just bought a X23F and it was just delivered last week. I was concerned that we would be unable to use the canopy lights but come to find out Jayco has added them back into the at least the model we bought. We ordered ours in February. I don't know if that helps but i thought I would share.

I just mod'ed 2 of my ceiling lights to add the powered 1/4 TRS plugs to mine so I can use the light/fans on my X20E. Really not all that hard to do. Did this to the light closest to each end of the camper.
