Mattress or pad suggestion

Slept for the first time in our x17z, and we NEED a better sleeping option. With just the folding mattress, we felt each bar. It was worse than sleeping on the floor. Does anyone have any suggestions for this TT or something similar?

Our 19XUD has the "Teddy Bear" mattresses, which are terrible.
We have experimented with various kinds of foam, above and below the mattress, and we're currently looking at getting an air bed that will fit the non-standard "camper sized" space.

An additional problem is that extra layers of foam, etc, mean extra bulk to stow, when it's time to fold up.

Dont waste you money on a topper, you will still feel that crappy mattress underneath. Go to Amazon they sell some nice memory foam mattresses at very reasonable prices. And if you dont like it return it for free.

I have only spent a couple of nights in our new 19h. I just installed the hyper vent stuff, and that helped a lot. The teddy bear mattress still stinks, but at least I couldn't feel the bottom of the bunk.

We've never really had any big problems with these mattresses until they start to get a little worn (this is our second hybrid). The mattresses in our old Kiwi 17a were better than the ones in the X20E.

We have always laid out an open sleeping bag on top and that generally added enough to be comfortable. Last year we bought this mattress pad. We put on top the mattress with the sleeping bag on top. So far so good. And it doesn't take a lot of space when not in use.

I'm wishing I could find an appropriate sized (short-queen) air mattress to just replace our fold-up teddy bear mattresses with. At least the one I sleep on . The kids don't seem to mind them. But then, they don't have 47-going on 80-year-old backs....

It says air mattress, since they dont show prices which is strange they are probably expensive. Do a Google search for short queen rv air mattress, several showed up, have to do a little digging.

Costco has a great memory foam mattress topper that softened up my old futon mattress that had gotten way too hard. It cost us a hundred bucks or less, but this way you can experience a new comfort that will make your body (especially your back) very happy. It is worth a try.

The problem is that what works for some people doesn't work for others. It can be a hit and miss thing. It's why many furniture and mattress stores give 365 day test periods.

What I'm saying is that you may spend some money trying something that may not work. That said what ever you try make sure you can return it in a reasonable amount of time. Amazon allows free returns at all Kohl's stores, I believe you have 60 days. Sams Club allows no hassle returns as well.

I bought a Novosbed. Really comfortable, and good for my back

My wife and I find the OEM mattress in our XRB16 are a little light.

We started by supplementing her side with a self inflating air mattress we had from our tenting days. I tried using an old cotton sleeping bad under my side.

Recently we switched supplements and found that we were both happier.

No doubt neither will replace a decent mattress but it improved our comfort, didn't add much weight or volume and since we already had both things cost us nothing.

We bought a nice 3" forward to for our mattress and it works great. Not cheap for a high quality one though.
