My New 2017 x23b thoghts
Just brought home my new 2017 x23b, copper decor looks great, 15 LED lights inside (I think they added some for 2017), solar prep. I like the lighter gray exterior too.
Not crazy about the new bunk end latches. They are not that sturdy and they don't provide much force against the seal when closed.
2 issues
Leak in the front right outside storage area, about 10" inside
Back bunk door is bowed out in the middle, leaked on the drive home but not day 2 sitting in the driveway.
I'd like to get the rear bunk door replaced under warranty.
Any words of advice on getting that replaced?

If it's bowed, I'm sure they would do it. I have had my bunks leak, only when we have had the fabric caught in the seals when it's closed up. It is really difficult to see the top. We are very careful to check where the fabric is at as we close it up.
We saw the new 23B at the camping show in February. I like the new frame and axles/tires. Never noticed the latches.

I'm not familiar with the latch system on either of those. The one on my X20E is pretty flawless so I can't imagine that Jayco has changed it much. The one's on my hybrid are like the one's in this . Are yours different than this?

Oh, yuk. Don't like those at all. I wonder why they would have changed it? This is like the table legs. Went from a simple design to a Rube Goldberg setup.

KDUNK1,
I am wondering what the dry weight on the yellow sticker is for the 2017 year, and what is the cargo carry capacity?
Thanks!

I "lol'd" at that comment! [emoji1] We have a 2016 Jay Feather. It is our first tt so I don't know what the table legs used to be like. I swear my husband and I have almost got divorced over that stupid table trying g to unfold and fold every time! We finally said screw it and now just flip it upside down and store it on bed.

Yeah, we always take ours outside. More useful for us, and more interior space. Those new style legs made it very clunky to take the table outside.
I replaced those weird cantilever legs with the old style folding legs. See below. Moreover I also had a friend make me a new table out of cedar. About 2/3rds lighter than the press board, it can get wet without damage, and it's far stronger than the original press board table.

Looking at those latches, as long as they properly seal up the doors, it appears that they can be released from the bottom of the bunk end (near the hinge line) which I would consider a nice upgrade. I know that there have been a couple times I've parked my 2016 23F on such an incline that I was unable to latch and unlatch the front bunk end without standing on a cooler, despite being 5'11". My steep driveway happens to unfortunately be one of those places.

More thoughts on 2017 x23b
New latches-they are convenient however the poles that run from the handle up to the latches are in the way both on opening, can't get you hands in there to open the front bunk, and closing, can't get your hands in the to tuck in the fabric.
Tongue weight - it will be interesting to take this to the scales. As I may have have stated I upgraded from an x17z, when I placed the x17 on the hitch of my durango it dropped maybe 2", the x23b drops it maybe 6-7". I would say it is a whole lot more weight over the x17 than the advertised 40lb tongue weight difference.
Happy camping

2017 x23B Thoughts
Hello Everyone. New to camper life and new to this forum. Just purchased a 2017 23B. The interior and exterior look great but here are some of our problems so far. Small hole in tent end canvas. The dealer will fix this with some "miracle" canvas stuff (not technical I know). And if that does not work, then the whole canvas will be replaced under warranty. THEN on our second trip we notice the seal around the end on the "inside" was not quite sealed - so I will point that out as well. Then there is the door not closing easily. Or should I say - hard as hell to pull closed from the inside. I mean we have to slam the thing several times to close. I believe the plate is off. Now lets talk about the battery. it stinks... . Every time we lower or raise the hitch we blow a fuse. Of course we did not know this until we had to call the dealer who immediately knew what the issue was. So off to Walmart we went for fuses. We have had to replace it 4 times so far. Then this past trip was a dry camping experience and the battery life was horrible. We only ran the fridge on Propane and barely any water pump or a light for like five minutes and the battery would drain and drain. Other than those things.....it is really nice. Now if only we could figure out how to back up easily!

New x23b owner too
We also just bought an x23b and had some similar issues. The entire tent portion on the tongue side came apart from the camper on the first trip. Also the battery was dead and couldn't keep a charge and our propane wasn't working with the fridge set up. All has been fixed and cleared up now. Good luck.

Having the same battery problem does not run anything even though charger says 100%! How did you solve it?
