Mystery that needs to be solved

I have a new to me 2018 19XUD Hybrid....while cleaning it out this past weekend, I noticed 2 of these (circled in picture), one above each bed.

I thought that it might be a place to plug in a fan, but after searching the internet, I have had no luck with finding one that looks like it would fit.
Upon further review, the inside of the plastic housing looks like it has threading on it as if i am supposed to screw something up inside of it. HELP!!??

Thank you!

It's the port for the bunk fan/light. Looks something like this, but there are others:

Thank you - I have looked at several of these, but my housing has a place for something to be screwed into it. Do they make something like this that can be screwed in place?

First Welcome aboard.

I bet you it just plugs in. The screw threads you see, is what holds the small metal parts to the plastic frame.

Here is a post showing the inside of that assembly

It's a 12v outlet, originally intended for fans or reading lights, sort of left-over from the days when trailers came with clip-on fans

The connection inside isn't threaded, it's actually a 1/4" jack socket, (a "guitar jack"), the tip being +ve and the sleeve -ve .. you could probably find some fans intended for auto use, and change the connector

Will these fans run off the battery power when the trailer is not plugged in to shore power? We keep an electric fan in our trailer but can only use it when trailer is plugged in. Would be nice to have a fan (not powered by cell batteries) to use when on a campsite with out power.

Yes. They are strictly 12 volt.

Does any one know of a product that is simply a fan and not a light that can plug into this? We could really use a fan however the light seems redundant considering there is already a light there.

the amazon link seems to only have fans with lights or just lights. I was thinking a rechargeable fan might be a better option than one of these. First off the fan is quite small on these. Also having a light on the fan is not of any use to me when the bunk ends have lights. They are also quite pricey at around $80 for each one here in Canada.

Can anyone comment on how well they work to push air around on a hot summer night? Or if they opted for a rechargeable fan instead of one of these.
