I just bought a 2010 23b. I have never own a trailer in my life, so i have a few questions.

1 I have the trailer breaking. Should I turn it off when I am in bumper to bumper breaking. It is really tough to control and when I let off the break there is a jolt.

2 Where are the low point drains? They look like they are under the bathroom sink.

3 If I take out the sway bars before i back it up, will that make it easier to manuever?

If anyone can offer some advice that would be great.

Welcome to the Jayco forums.

What model brake controller do you have? Sounds like it may need a little adjustment because you want to keep it turned on all the time while towing.

Someone with a 23B I'm sure will chime in on the exact location of the low point drains, but sounds like you found one location. Another drain located on the outside of your HTT will be for your fresh water tank.

Knowing the type/model of your WDH (weight distribution hitch) would be helpful. But, if you are referring to the spring bars on your WDH, leave them connected (engaged) when backing up. If you have the side mounted friction control sway bar, then yes, pull the pins and remove the sway bar when backing up.

Welcome to the forum! I have a '06 23B. The drains I'm aware of are the 2 under the bathroom sink, a white "petc o c k" under the trailer near the frame rail below the fresh water gravity fill, and the 3/4" NPT plug on the water heater.

Please put your tow vehicle type, trailer model, brake controller, hitch and any other relevant specifications in your signature line. Years ago, I thought people were boasting about their possessions but then realized that they list that stuff so that others can read it and give them help that is specific to their equipment.

Thanks for all the answers. I will be trying some of these this weekend. I will be dry camping for the first time in Idylwild, Ca. Couple more questions. I have spoiled my daughter with the full hook-up glamping. But I hope to boondock and do some tailgating this football season.

1 Does anyone park their camper at home? If so have you ever scraped the bottom on the driveway?

2 Has anyone ever installed a lock on their bathroom? What kind?

Ohhhhh yeah! We have one of two choices...
- remove the back stabilizers and go in at an angle
- keep stabilizers on and use boards placed strategically where the driveway and gutter meet!
Fortunately we take longer trips so Don doesn't mind removing the back stabilizers before we get home. We always back as a "team" (me behind the wheel and he navigates - just the way we roll LOL), and always (!) use walkie-talkies.

LOL, Don also likes to cook! But we're both good at bbq'ing! Funny how you fall into a "role" while rv'ing. It's amazing how Don navigates and I'm at the wheel. We communicate so well, we can get into any space pretty much on the first try!

We probably won't flip axles or changes wheel sizes. Neither one of us have the desire
