Turn off city water or your water pump and then look down the toilet with a flashlight. Easy to see the level then. Very hard to see when water is flushing by.

We went for a season and a half with non functioning sensors. I finally cleaned them off with one of these.....

It worked well. I agree with the poster above though that the tank doesn't need to sparkle everytime. I will probably give it a good rinse once or twice a season and leave it at that. If my sensors aren't accurate it doesn't bother me.

The sensors never work. TP hangs up on the and completes the circuit. We just look down the toilet to see how full it is. Before dumping I will fill the tank as full as possible with FW. So it flushes nicely.

After dumping add about 3-5 gallons of water back into the tank. Ideally with some liquid fabric softener and either toilet chemicals or Pinsol

https://www.youtube.com/user/TheFitRV has some interesting videos on tank flushers. unless you have a straight pipe to your black tank the hydroflush type aren't that useful. He does the tests on a clear tank he sets up, was educational.

My black tank sensor is the only one of the three that works and is accurate.

Definitely glad I watched that video. I think I'd get the flush king just so I have the option of refilling from the dump by closing the valve.

However, I wouldn't use poor water, just everyday water will work, but you do have to pour it down the toilet!
LOL -- thanks for the correction.
