No electricity

I got home from camping at a KOA where I had shore power on Monday and when I tried to use my electric jack I had no juice. I learned I had no electricity in the entire trailer. I checked my batteries and their connection and they’re good. I checked my breakers and fuses and they’re good... I have no idea why I have no power with my deep cycle battery.

Someone mentioned some small automotive fuse near the tonge jack and battery box but not sure what talking about...

Any suggestions?

Follow the positive wire to the frame. There should be a small rubber fuse holder next to a junction box. It is easy to overlook.

Ok, so I am having the same problem. Just got back from a 12 day trip Grand Teton & Yellowstone and had no power to the trailer. I have an x17z. I looked for this junction box but I dont see anything like that anywhere. The positive wire goes with the negative into a plastic sheeth then up into the trailer. I am at a loss.

I have the x17z as well, and the fuse is right behind the spare tire on mine. I had to crawl under tongue to replace it when I blew it raising the jack too far.

*sigh* I am either blind, an idiot or my trailer does not have one. I have looked in battery box, on the frame and followed the wired up into the trailer....nothing (i do see the breakaway break box). From the battery, the battery wires are combined with the TV connection and wrapped in a corrugated sleeve that follows the A frame on the drivers side until the wires go up into the trailer. I looked under the dinette bench where the wires would enter the trailer and did not see anything but here is a lot there with the HW heater(?)...I will admit my first look was a bit brief as I quickly became overwhelmed.

Any other suggestions on where to look?

On my X17z, it was right behind the spare tire up against the frame of the unit. It is about an inch by an inch, black, with a rubber cap. Took me a while.

Thanks for all the help. I still don't see it. I will need to get someone to look at it.

You might find a 30 amp fuse where the wires enter the camper, under the dinette seat, hidden behind that storage panel. Another culprit could be a bad ground. i chased a battery issue for 2 months, discovered the 30 amp fuse at the front of the trailer, under the dinette seat. (near my water pump). But that didnt fix my issue. i found a bad ground. i followed wire all the way to the back of the camper, and that is where the ground was. The self tapping screw that held the gound wire to the frame of the camper had snapped in half. I sanded the paint off the frame right next to this spot, and bought a new self tapping screw and screwed it in, and everything works.
HOpe you find it!

I am not giving up quite yet. I need to look again under the dinette bench.
But here is what I see under the trailer. The is the driverside front where the battery and TV power enter the trailer. The red wire nut was covered with electrical tape. I took that off to make sure the fuse was not somehow there. I did reattach the nut to make sure there was a good connection.

yeah, find where that is on the inside, (under dinette, might be a board with a couple screws in the way keeping you from looking beyond under the dinette, but if you move that you should see where all those wires are coming in. There is a 50/50 chance, your blown fuse may be there. If you have an electric jack,i hear people blowing a fuse all the time from their electric jack. Also, check the black wire that is running the other way to the back of your camper. It may be where your ground is.

Success Oh my. For something that seems to be a chronic problem they sure put it in a horrible of a spot. I looked deeper under that dinette seat and back around the corner in a spot that I needed a flashlight and could only get one hand into. I got it. Half that space under the dinette is storage, the other half is water heater and wires/hoses. Its effectively behind the storage. I probably could have remove the panel but i realized I could skillfully squeeze my hand in there, remove the fuse and with even more dexterity I was able to replace the fuse and the cap with only one hand....and now I have 12v power! Now I am off to the wally world to buy them out of 30a fuses.

Thanks everyone, Especially, Twin Hauler.

No Idea. I bought used from a dealer in Mar. During the walkthrough everything was plugged in. I dont think we tried the 12v system. As far as I know it has been popped since I bought it. I don't have an electric jack, so that's not it.
