outlets in camper

So, do the outlets in the camper only work when the camper is actually connected to electrical hookups?

Or, if you're running off of a generator, and the trailer is plugged into it.

or if you have an OPTIONAL INVERTER that runs off your battery and you have a transfer switch or at least a couple of receptacles designated for back-up power installed.
