Pin holes in canvas

Hello,

Last year we bought a 2012 X23J that we love. However, the canvas on both ends had several very small pin holes in them. They didn't leak, but you could see daylight coming through. The dealer replaced both canvases, but one of the new ones has the pin holes again. Has anyone else seen this?

Thank you.

My cat got on my roof once and put some small pin holes in it...

I use a standard 9X12 tarp over my POPUP bed ends (poor mans gizmos - rain fly) which really knocks down on the bright light getting inside the trailer. Also helps out big time keeping it cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter

I have a pin hole in my front bunkend. It has not leaked in the three years I have had the camper. I do have gizmos on the bunkends most of the time, but even when they are off no leaking.

I also have 2 pin holes, the local dealer says not to worry, so far no leaks. I should imagine if they do leak that a simple repair could be done.

I just noticed pin holes in my new ends but I use the thick safety blankets that are red and silver over them in the torrential rain fall we had this weekend with no problems.

I have a couple also -- they must be "normal" - and never had any leaks through these. If concerned smear a little clear waterproof silicone caulk on the outside. I never did that since it is not a problem for me and does not leak.

We had some on our pop up. I put a tiny bit of clear silicone on the spots... Not sure if that's the kosher fix. But it worked for us and did not show.

Ive read somewhere to rub some wax from a candle over the hole to repel/seal any water from that area. This was from our tent camping days but would assume it would work on a HTT also. Havent used the tent since out TT purchase but held up for a few years, no leaks if I recall.

Pin holes in canvas

I own a 2006 23B Jayco and have it for sale. A potential buyer noticed the pin holes on the front canvas. They are located at the top in the corners. When he was laying there on the bed looking at it he noticed that it was next to the screw heads at both locations. I had never noticed but planning repairing today. Either a white silicone (so it is not noticeable) or the wadder repair sounded good seen on another site.

I just put a small dab of seam sealer on it and no leak. Then again it didn't leak in the first place but you could see a few pin holes.

I have a 2014 X19H...first thing I noticed when I got it home...front canvas has a pin hole. Like others here, never leaked. Our first camping trip, it was a torrential downpour (aren't all first trips like that?!). Never leaked.

The dealer said that the tent end would have to be removed and sent to Jayco for repair. They also said that could take weeks. So I waited until the season was over. Now coming up on this season I have to decide if I get it worked on or not. Sounds like this is common. Without a leak, I am not sure I want to hassle with it..

Thanks everyone for your input on this. I didn't think this would be a common thing...

If it ain't leaking don't fix it! Mine is a 2010 so my pin holes are now going on year #5 and still no drips but I did put the seam seal on them anyway. Who's to say that the new tops won't have the pin holes like many of us had in the first place.
