Came home today and actually had to remove the port cover and untangle cord to pull it out. How it can knot up so going in is beyond me. I think I may go detachable before spring. I'll try the clockwise/counterclockwise twist, but I really don't have much faith. There is about a month and a 1/2 till the end of Indian Summer, I'll give it till then. I love my 17C and don't want to get rid of it for such a trivial matter. Been a Jayco owner for 38 years and this is the worst problem I've ever had. Guess I shouldn't complain, but I'm to old to fight this twice every trip.
Wipe your cord down then as you push it in push thru a rag with some dish soap on it as a lube. Or get some of the non conductive lube electricians use to pull wires. I prefer "Dawn" all it has to be is a soapy rag not pure soap, good luck
