Power cord sticking

2016 23B my power cord is difficult to get back in, and to get out. It seems to kink easy. Anyone have an update or mod for this?

Best mod is to put a 30A receptical on the side of the camper where the cord pulls out from and a plug on the end of the cord. Of coarse that means you will need to find a place to stow the cord. Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Trailer-Marin...79701209&psc=1

The Marinco detachable power cord mod was one of the best upgrades I've done to my RV. It took away a potential mouse opening / entry point and ended the tedious chore of trying to push my cord back into the box!

I got tired of busting up my knuckles and hands trying to get that cord back in. So last year for my Covid project, I swapped out the cord with a plug-in. Now I keep asking myself why I waited for so long to do it.

Besides making it a detachable cord you could try applying silicone spray to the cord, to help is slide itself.

Which plug-in did you buy? I was gifted the appropriate cord to connect to the plug in, so now I have to buy the 30A plug. I currently have the round flapper, where the cord is stored inside. The diameter is 5-1/4". The 30A plugs I've seen such as the Furrion, are not that wide. I want a nice clean install on my fiberglass exterior.

I second the detachable Marinco cord. I needed the space where the cord is normally stored to install a hardwired surge protector. That prompted the change to a detachable cord. I now detach the cord, put it in a large canvas bag which goes in one of the trailer storage compartments. No more struggling with pulling the cord out or pushing it back in through the small hole.

I can't remember the make of the plug. There is not much difference between any of them. The hole was a challenge. I had to come up with something to cover it and also look right. I ended up cutting a 1/8 inch thick white cutting board I had in the "scrap" bucket and after sanding the knife marks off of it and rounding the corners, it looked pretty good. I've read in other camping sites that the conversion only takes about an hour. Well, I took my time and did it to my standards and it took 2 days. Comments are OK.

That looks like a nice clean install. The trim on my trailer is black, so I'd have to find a black cutting board, or something I can paint black that won't peel or chip off.
