Power tongue jack failure

Got to our site yesterday in northern wisconsin and power tongue jack seized up unhitching. Can't turn it with the manual option. It's getting power for sure as the light works and it wants to turn.

Luckily the site was level and we were able to get unhitched, but have to figure out what to do so we can leave in a week!

Any ideas on getting it free? thinking I'll most likely have to replace it, but just thought I'd check here before doing that.

Thanks
Scott

Sounds like the nut in your jack screw is shot. They eventually wear out anyway. Often, they are fairly soft bronze. If you are in the habit of running it up or down until it hits the hard stop, it dramatically accelerates the damage. If that's the case, you're hosed and will likely need at least a rebuild. Often, those are more expensive than a new one, and take much longer. You may be best off buying a new one and installing it. In the meantime, a bottle jack, or the jack from your TV may work to keep the tongue off the ground while you replace.

If you have a floor jack (or someone in the park has one) use that to lift RV to hitch up and then the unbolt the electric jack so you can get out of there.
