Propane tank

We have a 30# propane bottle on our hybird. To take the tank off and get out refilled is a nightmare. I have to lower the. Spare tire to get to the two bolts holding down the tanks. This is the worst set up I have ever owned. We purchased two 20# bottles and a dual tank holder. I am going yo upgrade the flexible hoses to auto switch over. I am also going to replace the propane regulatory. This trailer is very nice even after 15 years. We were going to get a new trailer but our old hybrid still has life in her. This ultra lite trailer was made very well.

I ordered the parts and while outside with our trailer I decided to rip up the flooring. One thing leads to another. New RV owners have a lot to learn!

My brother's PU is setup that way with a single 20# tank. He can never get it off.

What you are proposing to do is exactly what is on my 23B.

I went on YouTube and people are swapping out there single tank for two tanks. It is very easy. Remove the. Stupid tank system. It involve and easy to remove. The twin tank hardware screws in and a threaded rod with a clamp holds the two bottles on. I also replaced my regulator it is 15 years old. Hooked up the gas lines and that was it. No more laying on the ground with the spare tire released reaching two wrenches to loosen the two bolts. Then after that you still have to put the two bolts back in.
When we were in Florida Camping World would not refill my propane tank because it is over 10 years old . KOA did fill them for us so we decided to replace the single 30# propane bottle with two 20# propane bottles.

Once older than 10 years old, they need to be recertified. They put a certification sticker on it that makes it good for another 5 years.

Our local independent RV repair shop does it. I don't recall them even charging me for it, as I have them fill the tank too.

They wanted to sell me a new one. I have no problem with getting a sticker on my tank. I don't like someone selling me a new one!

KOA broke the law in refilling those tanks. But I doubt anyone has ever paid a fine for filling expired tanks. I've heard of people swapping those old tanks at Blue Rhino etc.
