PUG velcro adhesive

What do others use to keep the mating PUG Velcro stuck to your camper? I use industrial strength Velcro and still it comes off on the ends which will eventually make it all useless. On my pupup i had to staple it to the roof but can’t do that with the aluminum drip edge on my half hybrid. I do leave the PUG in place when closing the bunk end but that hasn’t helped the velcro to remain in place.

I have no idea what PUG means but if you have to glue something vs. sewing it on I would recommend 3M adhesive strips. Note, really! clean surface cleaned with alcohol or acetone. Apply with lots of pressure and then leave it for 24 hours to achieve max bond before using it for a load. On my old popup we had to hand re-sew it to canvas with upholstery grade thread to get it to stay on.

How about a pic or where you are installing it?

Pop-up gizmos. They go over the bunk ends to provide extra protection, keep your heat or cool air inside the camper.

I use binder clips. So far so good.

I think there is a thread here, somewhere, that has addressed this. If I can find it I'll link.

I use contact cement. Clean surface with acetone, apply cement well, allow to dry, assemble, press with roller. I have velcro stuck to vinyl, wood, and aluminum that has lasted over 20 years.

Ok I’ll try the contact cement. I assume you use velcro without adhesive then?

Binder clips wouldn’t work as i leave my pug attached when i close up so they would interfere with the door.

Thanks!

I purchased these this past summer and bought the Velcro kit and adhesive from the company. I cleaned with alcohol first and applied once it dried.
This worked very well.
If you are having issues contact them via email. I have found the company very responsive.
