Reflectix

We have popup gizmos but trying to decide if we need refectix in the windows. Does it really make much of a difference in the in tempurature when used with the popup gizmos? If the reflectix get wet will that stain or damage the bunkends?

Thanks in advance!

When I had my pop-up I made Reflectix panels for the bunk end screen areas. I also had the Gizmo's. The Reflextix makes a big difference. No ill effects by getting wet. I stored them under the mattress when not in use.

The colder it is when you camp the more of a difference it will make. Using Reflextic in the bunkends helps. I first made window pieces and then covered all 3 sides of the bunkend with the Reflextic. PUG also makes bunkend liners that are not as bulky as the Reflextic and they cover all of the tenting except the "roof" which the regular solar covers protect. I like the PUG solar liners to use inside when it is cold and outside when it is hot and we are camping where there isn't any shade.

Man, I guess it's just me, but..... I can't get over the silver look. I think it would wear on me after a while. I feel the same way about the pugs, but to each there own.

You can put the non-silver side of the liner facing into the camper. That way you don't have to see the silver. The silver does tend to brighten the inside of the camper.

I was going to buy the reflectix and cut it to fit the windows but I found some sun shades at a local store that work great! I got large for the side and jumbo for the end, they are grey on one side and silver on the other, they make a huge difference with the heat/air....sometimes I open the zippers and put them between the screen & canvas, then you dont see the silver and they still do the job, we are looking into getting the popup gizmos before we start the season.....we also have an Eden Pure heater that we take in spring/fall, it heats up to 1000 sq. ft., we put it under the dinette and it heats the camper up enough that the furnace usually doesnt run unless its really cold out, we have heated mattress pads on the beds also. But whatever you choose putting something in the bunkends does make a huge difference.....

You will want both. The gizmos add to the insulation for the top of the bunk end. If you have to choose between the two buy the gizmos and cut your own reflectix for the window. Gizmos also keep tent ends from getting stained from dirt and tree debris. JMO. I have a set for the 17Z used only one trip. Contact me if you are interested.

How are the Gizmos attached on a hybrid? I'm guessing they clamp to the gutters above the doors? We were planning to get some for our pop-up this year, but we ended up trading it for the 17Z.

You can attach them with clips or have the man and his wife add velcro when you place the order. You then need to add velcro around the top of the bed opening for the gizmo to hook to. It works great. There is an old thread where someone had pictures of their hybrid with the velcro.
