removing bunk light adapters

I am curious if anyone has ever removed the adapter in the bunk and changed it out to a 12 volt cigarette lighter plug?

Personally I would leave them. I would do one of two things. Go to radio shack and buy the male adaptor that fits it the existing power point and modify the male end of a cigarette lighter extension cord. Better yet, just install the power adaptor next to the existing power point. Now you have both power options
