Roof...Alpha Ply or Diflex?

Had a good bit of discussion with the dealer regarding the roof material on my 19H when I purchased it. I was being told it was EPDM. I said that I had read it was not EPDM, but that it was Alpha Ply. The salesman was certain it was EPDM. He recommended keeping it clean, inspecting seams and caulk, and to apply an EPDM treatment once a year.
In my haste at the dealer I could not find where I had read about the Alpha Ply. So when I returned home I started looking again. It states on the Jayco Ultrlite page that it has the Alpha Ply. I sent the salesman an e-mail letting him know what I found. He e-mailed me back with a copy of an e-mail from a Jayco regional manager that said the roof is Diflex by Dicor and to still treat it with an EPDM treatment.
I see that the Swift series has Diflex, but the Jayco site says Alpha Ply for the Ultralite Hybrids. For maintenance, the Alpha Ply recommends only washing with mild non-abrasive detergent and to inspect the seams & caulk. They advise against any special treatments.
I don't think it is EPDM based on the test of white on one side and black on the other. Mine is off-white on one side and ... a little more off white on the other. LOL It also has the orange peel texture.
Does anyone know if the Alpha Ply was used on all 2014 Ultralite Hybrids? Not sure what to think now that I am getting this conflicting information.
Thanks

It has an orange peal texture to it....

Howie, take a pic of the roof, close up and we will tell you if it's EDPM or AlphaPly!

Salsa,
I am fairly certain it is not EPDM. It has the orange peel texture and it is not black on one side.
The dealer and a Jayco rep said it was Dicor Diflex. When I questioned them farther, I was told that they (Alpha & Diflex) are the same and that I have both! this is crazy. From what I gather, Alpha & Dicor are 2 different companies, it can't be both. I ask them who they go to for a warranty claim, Alpha or Dicor. I am really losing confidence in my dealer and Jayco over this.

Well it's not both.

And if you need to reseal , you need the right sealant, or you can void warranties on the Alpha product.

Thank you J! That is exactly the point I am trying to make to them! I do not want to be difficult, but if I have an issue a year or two down the road, then it would be my fault for improper maintenance.

If it's orange peal texture, then 99% it's Alpha product.

I actually got a pamphlet with my trailer documents. Check your stack of paperwork

I have went through all my paper work and found nothing. Guess I will go through it again for the 3rd time just to be sure. Or I could have the wife check. She says I can never find anything so maybe I am overlooking it.

I would call Jayco direct with your VIN number. They should be able to tell you what type roof you have.

I sent them a message on their contact page from the website. I will give them a day or two to respond before I call.

Yeah I'd still go ahead and call them.

I have before and they are very helpful.

LOL…the saga continues. I received an e-mail form the salesman stating that he spoke directly to a product specialist at Jayco and was told it was Dicor Diflex. So that was 2 people from Jayco who said it was Diflex. After not receiving a reply to my e-mail inquiry, I called. The lady I spoke to ask for the last 8 digits of the VIN and within 30 seconds said I have Alpha Ply. She said that was based directly off my VIN. So now 2 people from Jayco have said Diflex and 1 has said Alpha. The Jayco sales rep hasn’t responded to any of my e-mails after I ask a few follow up questions when he said it was Diflex. He has been copied on all the e-mails with the dealer. I guess he has left it in the hands of the dealer. I think right now I tend to believe the lady I spoke to directly since I know she based her answer on my VIN.

Based on that last info related to your VIN + the orange peel texture...you should be safe in assuming you have AlphaPly!

My 2014 28BHBE had a AlphaPly sheet in the manuals bags....

Could Jayco be using both products depending on availability

I had no info in my manual bag on the roof. We are heading out on the maiden voyage this evening. When I get back I will snap a pic.

I didn't see anything in my packet of info either about type of roof. It is textured. I will have to find out before any repairs are necessary.
