Roof Sealant?
What sealant do you recommend for the roof and how often do you seal? Thanks.

Dicor is what I have been told to use. They have leveling and non leveling stuff. My 2014 will need some of it redone this fall/winter. Check every year, when you are setting up, if you're bored (you get the idea) I got it this spring, and I have noticed some shrinkage of some of it.

X2 Dicor Lap Sealant self leveling.
Look for edges of old sealant starting to separate from roof.
Remove any old that is gapping. Clean area with Acetone and reapply.
I check roof Spring and Fall.

Easy to do, Dicor even has some videos showing how. They say there is no need to remove the old just properly clean and apply. Not bad to do at all I just did mine yesterday took about an hour to clean every thing then lay down th fresh sealant.

The leveling Dicor is for horizontal surfaces and the non-leveling for vertical surfaces. Leveling means it will spread out a bit (becoming more level), the non will stay put on the side of your TT.
I prep by washing, wiping with mineral spirits and a final wash.

x2 on Dicor. Never use silicone on a roof as it will weaken the material. Also carry a small amount of eternabond tape for any potential punctures. I had a small branch this year make a dent in mine.

Another vote for the Dicor self leveling sealer. When we bought our 2001 kiwi 17 it had been sitting neglected for a few years and the lap seals were toast. An afternoon cleaning and 5 tubes of the Dicor later, it was good as new but not very nice looking but you can't see it from the ground, right? I also re did the roof a year ago with the 2 part Dicor roof coating. Occasionally I go up and check if any gaps are starting to form at the lap seals and just re apply more of the sealer.

According to the manual, you need to reseal yearly. It is section 13-6 in our manual. It is not "check it out and if good leave it", it is, "RESEAL YEARLY". You will have NO warranty on roof leaks if you have no evidence of resealing. Don't ask me how I know this.

Did you ever get a clarification on what that term means?
BTW, I have never heard of anyone getting any money , meaning over a couple hundred $$$, on a warranty claim from a rv roof.
Has anyone?

Jayco just kept reading the line from the manual. I did find out though that even if you do reseal, and have a roof leak, they will get you to talk to whoever resealed it as it isn't Jayco's problem it wasn't resealed properly.
