RV sealant

I have heard that there is a special RV sealant to use . I was going to seal around the front bed on my X23B. Anyone have a recommended sealant?

For the walls use ISO Quad caulking.

A second suggestion is to avoid silicone products.

RV Proflex is good stuff for RVs also. Like Redhorse said, no silicone is key!

I just picked some up from my RV place intown. We have an X23B as well and there is one spot that I see light coming in to the camper from one of the bunk ends. I made sure to use the right stuff. I can take a picture of it for you and post it.

Thanks for all the advice. I went to my local RV shop and they had sealant specifically for RV’s . And it wasn’t much more expensive than the silicone based sealants.

Has anyone had any experience using this material? I was just going to use the recommended sealant from my RV store, then I found this.

Many here use Eternabond. I keep a roll in the TT just in case I ever get a nick in the roof membrane from a branch or other debris.

Eternabond is excellent. I used it on my previous trailer when the original Dicor seal on the front end of the roof started failing. But keep in mind it's for roofs. You'll still need other sealant for the side of the trailer.

I covered all my caulking on the roof with eternabond. I like it. I also have a small roll in the htt, for any nicks/tears. I did a fix 6+ years ago and it still looks like I just applied it. I did learn, do not stretch eternabond when you apply it, or it will release.

I was reading that others have just used acetone to clean the surface before applying the eternabond. Any advice on this?

Used RV sealant

I used the RV sealant that my local RV dealer had. Been thru a rainstorm and looks like it worked. Thanks for the advice!

Funny, I did the same two years ago.
I used the 4" wide Eternabond and taped over all existing caulking so you could not see it anymore. I used almost two 50' rolls, plus one 50' roll of 2" wide for some areas. Then, to finish the job, I used Dicor and put that over all edges of the Eternabond tape. I don't think I'll have to caulk ever again.
Good idea to keep a roll in the trailer, I have to do that.

Just yesterday I spent 4+ hours sealing the sides. I used 1 tube of Dicor non-sag and two tubes of Geocel ProFlex RV. The ProFlex was easier to apply and the beads look a little better than the Dicor, but both will work.

Eternabond, Dicor, ProFlex - all good stuff!

The non-sag Dicor is available in different colors, but I am not sure about black.
I used white, looks just like any other caulk you'd use in your house.
