screen door latch

Hi All...got caught in whooper of storm in Hamburg Ny Sunday just as we passed a "Campingworld" and thought lets stop and browse....while touring the store namely the Trailer showroom I saw that a number of trailers had clear plastic inserts in the screen door that contained a spring loaded knob gizmo thingamajig that released the door with out having to slide the two piece slider...I asked and the salesman said it is New and OEM...has anybody else seen these or know if they are available for purchase/retrofit?

I saw them on some trailers at the 2010 RV show at Hershey PA. I have not seen then for sale as an accessory, but I bet a dealer could get them.

I've got a 2012 Jayco Eagle and have the clear slide but still the dumb black latch for the door.

It's called an atwood / excel latch. You can buy them on E-bay for 50 bucks or so.

I found the latch on Ebay, but it's only the latch, so I'll hang out here to see if someone can explain how to get rid of that sliding plastic thing and put one of these in with a new piece to hold it in place.
