Seam splitting repair or replace?
During spring cleaning on a 2011 X23B we discovered a split in the plastic that attaches the tent to the trailer. My first choice is a diy repair/replace rather that dealing with a dealer or repair shop, unless there is a warranty. I am not the original owner of this trailer, so I doubt there is any sort of warranty for me. Thought I'd start here and tap in to the knowledge of the group before contacting my dealer or Jayco.
If anybody has experienced this, can I simply reposition the screws into an undamaged section of the plastic and seal it up with some adhesive and caulk, or is it time to replace the whole tent over one little split?

Back out the screws and add some big washers.

Sorry for the spelling errors, I posted this question this morning from my cell phone. I'm going to blame the phone and Tapatalk for all errors. Really, I wish I could edit the original post. Thanks for understanding what I'm trying to ask.

There was a post on this a couple months ago. Seams like a common issue. I removed one screw at a time and added a standard washer.
I pinched the plastic back together as I tightened it back up.
To me, it appeared the plastic fractured, because the screw were over tightened.

Thanks, now that you mention it, and I'm on a real computer, I found the old thread.
I'll make the repair and post results this weekend. Until then, I'm still open to suggestions!

I'm having the exact same issue. If you ended up fixing it, does anyone have the final results in a pic?

Got rained out this weekend. I'd rather work on it dry. Will definitely post photos when I finish.

Now what I did about 3-4 years ago was a small piece if Mr. Grip ( Lowe's) and a washer. Now the black you see on the right is a small piece of duct tape to protect the fabric from the Mr. Grip.

Same proble here
We kind of have the same problem! First, we noticed that the front tent end was pulling the screws through the plastic attachment trim. From the dealer it only had one screw per corner, which was now where near enough. I added two more screws per corner and that seems to be holding it secure for now. However, I was concerned with as to why it was pulling the screws through the plastic. The top pole that hold the tent end up or open is at the smallest setting. Could the support cables need to be raised to the top hole to keep the platform from going down as far? currently the support cables are in the middle holes????

I tried...no luck!
It was worth a try! I raised the support cables from the center home to the upper hole in hopes it would relieve some tension from the top corners. All it did was put the bunk at a very awkward angle, on a person could not sleep at! It also caused the top support pole to no fit in the recessed attachment hole. The only solution I can see is keeping the support pole compressed all the way. The pole has 5 detents and on it shortest setting it is still to long. If I push the tab in and slide the pole in further if will go 3/4 of an inch further. However, there is no hole for the tab to engage.

I fought it for a while with diy repairs in my X20E. Eventually replaced. I found replacement tent ends online for $450. Color me surprised the that camping world had them cheaper. $503 fully installed and warranted for a year.
If (when) the other side needs replacing, I'll be handling the labor myself.
