Sewer hose opinion

Hey all, last fall we upgraded to a X23B for a pop up. With the new camper we now have a bathroom for the first time. So i need to know about the sewer hose situations. We did dump the tanks used by the sinks at the dump station at the campground. But we will be going to full hook up sites this summer. So i need to know what kind of hose to get, or not get, how long do i need, I think i'm going to need the steps for it...So

1. What kind of hose do i need? Somebody said don't get Rhino, and i should get Dominator
2. Are the end/connectors universal?
3. How long? 5' seems well to short, will 15' do? or 20 just to be safe?
4. Can they all be stored the same way? Within the end of the camper...Or should i mount PVC on the back bumper and keep within that?

Any insight would help.

I looked up the rhino hose and of course it comes in various lengths. How long of a hose do most people recommend? 20 feet?

Sometimes all you need is 5 feet,and sometimes you need 20. When you need 5 feet why have to deal with 20 feet of nasty sewer hose snaking all over the ground when you can use that short piece.

I bought a used 2008 X23B last year. I bought a 15' and a 5'. I got the heavy duty Rhino hose, don't remember the exact model off the top of my head. I also bought the hose steps, and have yet to use it on 6 camping trips. The X23B is a fairly low camper, and the first time I took it camping and set up the sewer hose, I realized quickly, I probably wouldn't ever need the steps. 3/4's of it are higher than the sewer connection on the HTT. I ended up giving the steps to a friend with a much higher TT. We just made the pop up to X23B switch last year, and are so glad we did. Enjoy your new HTT!

There's nothing wrong with the Rhinoflex system. It uses standard bayonet fittings except at the built-in 90 degree elbow to sewer adapter (included in the kit). With a small TT, we've never needed more than 10'....larger / longer TTs don't have the same flexibility lining up at a site.

We also carry a 15ft and a 5ft RhinoFlex. They both fit into the 4in bumper. We also use a clear 45* fitting at the connection. RhinoFlex is a very sturdy hose. Have ours going on 4 years now.

We use the Camco Revolution. I bought the kit when we bought the trailer. The kit came with 2 10' sections and a 90 degree sewer adapter and some other pieces I don't frequently use like end caps. So far after 5 outings, I have only ever used both 10' sections together (never been close enough to use just one section), and I don't think I could live without the 90 degree adapter. I do wish I had the ladder, but my trailer sits very high. Since we mostly stay in sites with sewer, I find myself wishing I could just leave the gray hooked up and open, but I don't want to do that with it lying on the ground. I also have the option to hook up a garden hose and get a sewer adapter, but I don't want to go to the hassle of switching out hoses, I would rather just get the ladder and be done with it...

I like this kit very much because of the quick-connect end fittings, the fact that the fittings swivel, the hose seems durable, and it fits in my bumper.

I've never used the Rhino, so I have no basis for comparison, but I have the Dominator 15' kit and a 5' extension hose. I've only had to use the 5' a couple of times. They both fit in the bumper, and I have no complaints about it. They work as they should and I've never had a problem with leaks. I also use a "Slunky" to keep the hose off the ground. No complaints there either. I will say though, that I also have a clear sewer elbow and always use it. Very handy device and highly recommended.

15' and 5' RhinoFlex system here. I also use a 45 degree at the trailer connection so I can see what is going on.

I have been using this system full time for 3 1/2 years and the hose is holding up very well. No obvious problems.
