Short cycled the A/C

So I have a Jayco Jayfeather 23B
I short cycled the A/c by turning it off/on and into heat to fast and it wonít turn on at all, almost like the breaker is tripped. Is it the capacitor that blew? Any help would be awesome. Itís the standard a/c unit that most rvís and motor homes have

Welcome from Northern California! Ok I’m not being a smart A$&. I don’t really no much about A/C or electric. The one thing I have learned about electrical problems is go for the simple stuff first. Are you sure you didn’t blow a circuit breaker? If that doesn’t fix it more than likely folks here will be more help than I can be. Good luck. And again welcome to forum.

Some residential units have a circuit that cause a delay to prevent short cycles. Someone told me when it short cycles the head pressure goes up and shuts it down. It should reset itself.

Unfortunately this happened months ago and I haven’t had time to address. It still doesn’t turn on and the breaker has power

Does the AC do anything, or make any noise? Are the fan / Compressor even trying to start? Can you run it in fan only mode? If you have confirmed power at the source and at the breaker in your RV, I would look towards a capacitor. You can look for obvious signs like it being swollen or burned but in the end the best way to test is with a meter that can measure micro farrads...

If the fan isn't coming on it sounds like a thermostat or control box issue. Have you verified 12 v to the thermostat. Try the reset on the furnace sometimes they are tied together.
