Shower door

Okay we like our little unit a Jay Feather X19H but we would rather have a solid shower door instead of the curtain. Has anyone ever changed this or is it even possible after leaving the factory? I looked a a Rockwood Roo prior to purchasing our Jayco and they had the glass door the bathrooms look almost identical

I'm guessing you would probably have to swap out the shower pan too for a radius one. Did the Roo have one of the radius doors? I suspect a swinging door in that small bathroom would not have clearance and you would probably have to step out of the bathroom to open the door. That might be a surprise for your fellow campers.

Can be done, but would be a bit more effort than what you might be thinking.

A Nautilus retractable shower door https://shop.stoett.com/nautilus-ret...-doors-for-rv/ should do the trick for you. We actually installed one in our house a couple years ago. It still works like a champ.

I'd have to say bankr63 is right about space and opening the shower door. I'm trying to remember if a solid door would even clear the toilet

deepsea5's idea is a good one but the cost may keep you from going that route at $200+

Also, would there be room to move in the show if it had a solid surround? I knwo they're pretty small - we haven't even used our shower.

I second the Nautilus if your rig is set up to take it. I am not familiar with your trailer but look at the web page.

Doesn't look like Nautilus would work. According to the FAQ it only works for straight shower openings. The X19H has a square shower pan with curtain on 2 sides. On one side the curtain is actually cut short to clear the tap set which is mounted to the side of the sink cabinet.

And now that I write that, perhaps my radius suggestion won't work without additional work. You would possibly need to relocate the tap set as well for a radius shower. Again, it's probably doable. There is a void behind the back wall of the shower so some quick plumbing extension could do that, and the chase is there for the heat duct under the shower pan. BUT this void is the power cord (accessed from outside) and breaker/fuse panel bay and I am not usually a fan of mixing water and power so closely together.

Welcome Aboard!

I have not heard of anyone changing out the shower curtain to a door on an HTT. I do not foresee fitting a glass door, without replacing the shower pan. Even then could you find a pan, that would fit the space??

I suspect your issue, is water spillage all over the floor, it is a common issue. Many people have added a number of devices, from a magnetic strip, Lexan panels to contain the water from spraying out around the curtain. Some people have added a new shower curtain rod that bumps out (Extend a Shower" a bit to give you some additional room. I have not see any posts on the subject in a long time, but a search may give you some design ideas.
