Sniff Sniff Sad Day, Back To Dealer For Repairs

Well, I have never had my camper back to the dealer since I bought it last year. When they got it ready, the hitch was not put on exactly right, so I made an appointment to get it fixed, along with a few other little items.

Well, I wanted them to look at the floor, there has always been a soft spot in front of the oven ever since I took it off the lot.

Tonight while I was getting it hitched up for the two hour trip in the morning to the dealer, I seen some water coming up out of the linoleum flooring and the spot has grown. The ceiling is in perfect condition, and everything is dry around the bunk ends, so water must be coming up from the bottom or somewhere else.

I really hope the warranty will get it covered without any problems. I am curious if they are going to tell me it needs to go back to the factory over the winter.

Good luck, with the repairs.

Mine goes in this afternoon, mostly for little things that I could take care of, but with the dealer about 16 miles away, why not just let them do it all.

I just got it back last Saturday. Nope, said the floor was normal, and not rot. They said the soft spots are normal, and did not fix it. Also, when I went down, the repairs on the hitch I took it in for was not done correctly, but they took care of it on the spot. I did get a new door handle, and they repaired the end bunk gasket.

I emailed Jayco support, and they said they would note my problem in the file in case I have trouble out of it later. I doubt that once the warranty is over, they would do anything, but we'll see.

I made the mistake of buying from a dealer 130 miles away, to save a couple grand. I tried taking it to a local Jayco dealer, but since they did not sell the unit, they were not particularly interested in doing warranty work on it.

Hopefully in the long term all ends well.

As I noted earlier I brought mine in today for some mostly minor work. As I am approaching my freeway turn off, in a construction zone, the truck in front of hit an orange barrier (55 gallon drum looking thing). Well it flew up, separated the base and I hit them straight on. The only damage I found was the bumper cover is damaged, there is some minor scraps from the rubber base rubbing along side the TV too but I think it will just buff out. I already brought the TV in for an estimate on the way home and it will be about $1K to fix.
