Solar Blankets

Can anyone tell me where I can get some solar blankets for the bunk ends in Ontario. I tried Bass Pro but they don't carry them. Thanks for the help.

Only posting this because it may help others....

Is a solar blanket more like a sleeping bag or something you place outside of the canvas? (I'm in learning mode here)

On another forum, several people have used these from Cabela's.

I would also second Mustang's response for Popupgizmo's. They are really great to deal with and are custom made for your particular bunkend. Yes they do sell and ship to Canada. We felt it was worth the expense when we had our PUP.

Hope this helps.

bertscamper,

You may also want to go to your hardware store and buy Reflectix, sold in rolls. It is the silver, reflective material that they use to make a lot of car/truck windshield sun screens (the thing that you fold up and toss behind or under the seat when you're driving). Cut the Reflectix to fit in your bunkend windows between your screens and the cloth zipped shades---this traps them in place and keeps the bunkends cozy. When not in use, store the Reflectix window pieces under the bunk mattresses.

I had the pop-up gizmo bunkend covers on my pop-up to insulate (silver side up in the summer to reflect the sun; silver side down against the canvas in winter to reflect the heat inward).

It helps on pop-ups (check their forums), and should really be great to "insulate" your bunkends on your 17Z with its main cabin hard walls.

Higgywool,

Thanks thats great because I was wondering what people used on the sides and ends. I know the popupgizmos cover the top.

Cheers

X2 higgywool, Refletix makes a big difference when running the heat or AC. We used them in our pup and then in our HTT when we had them.
