stove grate x17z
Anyone have a trick on how to keep the stove grate from jumping off when traveling. I used tape but looks awful.

Install a black metal bi-fold Atwood stove cover.

Put one of those cutting boards on top of it, or just take it off before you go, and put it some place where it won't slide around.

Agree with Chuck. We've done both. Cutting board is wonderful because it adds quick counter space.

Or, and I don't know why this just came to me, but if it bounces around put it in the oven with the broiler pan, and they can bounce around together.

Easy fix was a bungy cord I ran it through the oven door handle and two clips hook onto rear on top of stove where there are slots. My next project is how to keep the bathroom door closed while traveling. It is always open when I arrive at the campground.

We use the cutting board, with nonslip backing on it, adds extra counter space when we are not using the cook top and cheaper the the covers we were looking at. After seeing a friends Rockwood Roo they have a cover supplied with the oven cook top.

I had the same issue and bought some new rubber grommets for the legs and that took care of it. Just be careful and shop around, I found prices for them ranging from 89 cents to $5.00 each. And the most expensive still charged shipping. I googled up the model and grommets and found a private company that shipped them right away, and a lot cheaper than anything on amazon. We also put a water absorbent dish drying pad on it when driving to dry out from dish washing.

This hasn't happened to me (yet) for the x17z we bought this summer... But from the posts here, maybe I just haven't driven through bouncy enough roads??
So now I'm wondering why it hasn't happened. Roads not degraded enough, although we have hit a few speed bumps for sure. Better rubber feet already applied... Or maybe because the WDH is perfect and our trailer is level while traveling. I dunno. Guess I'll have to just see if it starts to happen next camping season on a longer trip; so far have only done weekend trips in the trailer

If the rubber grommets are missing:
I bought a pack of 2 of these in Lowes in specialty hardware.
They fit just right. Get a spare.
