Tent end insulation

We have a 17 x19h that we love. It's just two of us and the dogs. The a/c is a 15k btu. The ac struggles above 90 and 90% humidity (which is 90% of the time in Indiana). This weekend it got up to 84 in the camper. The a/c was on the day before and all night so I'm not trying to cool off a hot box. I'm thinking most of our issue is heat coming in the tent ends. Anyone have any suggestions on insulating the tent ends?

Pop up gizmos (get the high wind version) on the outside and relectix cut to fit in the windows.

Cut Reflectix (bubble wrap with aluminum on both sides) to fit into the tent end window areas. Reflectix can be purchased at any well stocked hardware store, home improvement store, or of course Amazon. Then get some space blankets and spring clips to hold it on the tent end walls meet the roof. You can google a product called PUGS (pop up gizmos) too.

Sorry but the Reflectix doesn't show too well in the pic. Here's another pic from somebody else that shows the Reflectix better.

Do you have to take the PUGs off every time you close up the tent end or do they fold up with the fabric?

I've seen them done either way. You can certainly remove them every time. It's also possible to fold them in. If you have the high wind version with the tie down cords, I've seen video of people connecting all the cords on each side to an O ring, then clip the two O rings together under the bunk. When you fold this assembly up, the cords are much neater and less likely to tangle, also easier to set up, just clip two rings rather than a dozen cords.

I suspect you have an AC issue. We have a 13.5K in our 23B, and it keeps our htt nice and cool when well over 100 with high humidity.

How often do you clean your air filter? I clean mine every 5-7 days of use, unless we are in a really dusty area.

A clean air filter, really helps cool things down.

Also check. The directions the find are pointing. You can tip them way down and block offa lot of air flow.

At 100+ and in the sun the tent ends are definitely warmer.

We do Gizmos and Reflectix with our 17SB. Never had a problem with it being too warm, yet. We'll be camping this weekend in the impending heat wave so we'll see how that goes.

It is an extra step to put them on and take them off but I don't even think about it anymore. It's just part of the routine. The combination also helps keep the bunks a little darker if you're prone to being woken up by the early summer sunrise.

X-2 Our daughter's HYBRID stayed very cool at FORT WILDERNESS in August. It actually had condensate running off the bunk ends it was sweating so bad on the outside.
