tent water stains

I loaned my trailer to a neighbor for last weekend. it rained pretty hard. when they got back they opened up the tent ends to dry out for a couple days then put them back up. Then I opened them up a couple of days later and there were water stains in all outer corners of the tent ends. I tested a water hose on them & if you press on the seams then you can feel the moisture. How to fix this & how to remove stains??? Thanks!

Probably not a lot to remove the existing stains other than to spray with a good non clorine meldoo remover and then letting the areas dry completely. I would then spray all the seams with a seam sealer to rewaterproof them. You prevent the issue by NOT loaning your TT to anyone. That way its all on you and only you can take care of your stuff like you.

That's a lot of damage for just one weekends worth of use. Warning signs should have appeared long before just 2-3 days of use.

I took pictures right before the trip because I put it on craigslist to sell. The tent ends looked practically new. See pic of same area. I was shocked when I popped the ends out to show for a potential buyer just a few days later. no stains on outside. just inside. RV Dealer recommended bleach water to clean & then tent seam sealer.

Use Awesome cleaner with bleach form the $1 store. It will work better than just bleach with water. Make sure to follow the cleaning with plenty of plain clean water. Let it dry them use the seam sealer.

I can't offer any help on clearing up that huge stain problem but this is something I use twice a season to prevent something like this from happening. I bought this at a marine accessory store when I first bought my hybrid 5 years ago and their suggestion was to spray it on a rag and apply it to the inside canvas just like your applying wax to a car, let it air dry for a few days before you go camping and you'll be good to go. Now living in the PNW I need a dehumidifier most of the time even while not camping.
When I get home from a trip I remove the mattresses so I can expose the canvas and unzip the screen openings from the inside and run that dehumidifier 24/7 for at least a week or until there's almost no water in the pan.
