Total Newbie with an x17z question

Hi, we just purchased an x17z yesterday. We won't be picking it up until next week. We are excited and working out our first longer distance trip for the week between Christmas and New Years. First attempted reservation asked how long everything from truck to trailer is. So the trailer specs say 17' and our truck is 18', so would 35' be the answer? Or do we add in the pop outs to the length? Not the most glamorous first question, but there it is . I'm sure we'll have more over then next few weeks. So glad to have found this forum! Looking forward to getting to know you all.

You just need to know the distance from front to back of your trailer. If the expandable sections are longer than your hitch to bumper, I would assume you need to know that number to insure you fit in the site available.

For the record, I've never needed to know total length of my tow rig and trailer unless I am going in to a pull through site for the night and planning not to unhook. All other times, I just need the length of the trailer only.

Oh, and welcome to the forum.

Always better to give them more length than needed. I give them the length of our trailer opened.

When campgrounds have asked for the length of my x17z, I've always said 24 feet. It's probably a foot or two shorter than that even when the bunks are open, but a little padding is a good thing. So, in your case, I would add the length of your tow vehicle to that.

Side note -- I've never had a campground ask for the total length of my camper and tow vehicle. That's a little odd.
