Trailer moans and groans

Hi all.

Is it normal for a trailer to "moan and groan as we drive slowly around corners. It seems like our x17z trailer is the only one that appears to protest as we make corners in the campground and around slow curves. Would it be the week distribution bars, or possibly the swaybar?

Any help would be appreciated.

Friction sway control that can be a cause and the Dexter flex type axel that you have is a friction type that will also make some noise.

Have you greased the sway bars?? That was our issue and took care of it right away with a little grease.

I had that issue as well, it was really embarassing...had to work on my Weight distribution bars, but the real solution was greasing my hitch ball, and chains on the WDBs. No noise any more.

The sway bars are not to be greased or it will be rendered useless.

Maybe you meant "spring bars" .... ?

If you use a friction sway bar, loosen it up and take the inner piece out and wipe it down with a dry cloth that has no lubricant on it.
