Upgrading and downsizing (kind of)

My wife and I bought a 2018 (model year hold-over) X23E on Saturday. We are really excited and looking forward to taking delivery of our new camper. First time hybrid owner, so I will be reading and asking questions. This forum has been very helpful in the past.

We went to the dealer we bought our 2008 Jay Flight 26BH from to look at Jay Flight SLX 7 184BS with the idea of downsizing as our oldest doesn't join us as often on trips, and will be leaving for college in August. After getting to chance to do a walk-around in the 184BS, I wasn't sold. Found our X23E parked nearby, and the wife and kids fell in love with it.

We will take delivery next month. Can't wait.

Your going to really appreciate all that room and cross ventilation with the Hybrid plus all the light when it’s opened up. One of my first mods was a set of stairs (removable) for the rear bunk as it makes getting in and out real easy for me, the dog or the grandkids. It’s also a great place to sit and be out of the way when it’s full of family.

I'm sure. Looking forward to out maiden trip.

While checking out the model at the RV dealer (our camper is being delivered from another state), I noticed how much more room there is with the slide-out dinette and the bunks. While this new camper is technically smaller than our 26BH, it has MUCH more living space, and I can only imagine how much more open it will feel with the bunk windows unzipped.

Did you build those stairs? I would love these for our new X23E.

We bought the exact same model Pyrate! It was a larger upgrade for us from our X17Z. I am still floored how much living space there is inside of it. I think you are going to love it, and there is something really magical about sleeping under tent ends!
