What does the small valve under the sink in the X17Z do?

I do not have the 17Z, but the 23B is just the big cousin. Are there two of them? Are they under the bathroom sink, at floor level? If so, they most likely are a tee handle valves, which you need to pull up on to open. If you go outside and look really carefully you will locate to pipe stubs sticking out of the floor of the HTT. They are low point drain valves for the water distribution lines. Open the valves, and the faucets and most of the water will drain out of the lines.

Thanks but this is a valve or lever valve and it turns left or right to close or open. I have two low point drains outside, but I am not sure what they are for exactly and if one is for the sink.

Are you referring to the bathroom sink? If so, there is a low point drain located under that sink, which drains the bathroom water supply lines. It has a T-handle, you pull up on the handle to open the valve and drain the water lines.

Is the pump there also? Possibly the valve for the antifreeze line and valve to shut off the line from the fresh water tank?
