I drilled holes in the end of the axle and used cotter pins as retainers.

My wife always gets nervous when were tot'n it to the dump (thinks i'm going to fast).I tell not to worry i'll slow down around the corners. lol. I've thought about the air tires but i'm afraid of the air tires making the tote to high and it's already to high for my low ultra lite.

On my last Barker 32 gal. tote, I bought 2 pneumatic tire from Harbor Freight to replace the hard tires.

Too bad I sold it with one of my previous trailers. I bought the same size tote last year and haven't replaced the hard tires yet. Looks like another mod coming up.

This is how I carried it. I made a mount that bolted to the rear bumper.

The mount was made of a piece of metal plate with a section of universal square tubing bolted to it.
The plate was clamped to the bumper using 4" U-blots.

This is how the tote was held in place. The retracable tongue of the tote, was pinned to the universal tubing on the mount.

Are you folks only replacing the tires on the back and leaving the original tires on the front?
I'll have to make a trip to harbor freight to see what they have. Thanks for the ideas.
I am always worried when I hook it to the trailer hitch for the drive to the dump station. I double secure it with rope, so no nasty stuff ends up in someones campsite on the way over.
