My experience has been that if you have swirl marks it means you have oxidation on the surface so you should remove that first so I would claybar it to remove the oxidation. Waxing or polishing in circles is old school before clear coat finishes came into play. Apply in straight lines like left to right and remove the same way.

This is the finish on my 15 year old ( other TT) polished from left to right.

LOL, that's funny. May be the smallest TT we've seen on here. Where did Audi hide the bed?

Uncomfortable for sleeping, bit ultra fun while o. The road.

I'm no expert, I hate waxing my 23B. For my years now I have been using a Mcguire's wash and wax. It still looks new.

Kidding aside, like @Jagiven I also use an automotive wash and wax product with pretty good results. I've used Meguiar's, Turtle, and Simoniz over the past few years, all with similar results. I like Meguiar's a bit better for the wash quality, but it is a bit pricier than the others.

The Simoniz is compatible with my pressure washer car wand, so that's what I have been using lately (2 summers).

I hate liquid wax except to touch up for small areas. I use automotive paste wax, usually Meguiar's or Mothers.

X2 on the Mothers and I run around it one more time with the BlackFire Midnight Sun.

Doc, in the other TT there’s no drinking or eating and a toilet was almost needed when DW and I were at a rally, now she stays home!

Would it be safe to refer to the shell as fiberglass? Certainly not metal.

I've used a couple of different waxes on my x23b and I prefer a product called
Collinite. I have used 2 different waxes made by them being the 476 Double Coat and the 915 Marque D'Elegance Auto Wax. The results were the same with both products. Very good. It's a semi soft paste which you can fully apply and then go back and wipe off. The wax is resistant to washing products and will shed water and rain nicely. The product an also be applied to rubber for protection. In my area, western NY, I can get two years from one waxing with washing a couple times a year.

Paste wax sucks. That's all I ever used until I found Wizards Shine Master. It's a little expensive but it's worth every cent. It's a thick liquid, works VERY well, goes on easy and comes off easy with a microfiber cloth. A lot of high end car guys use it. My buddy was helping a friend at the Auto Rama in Detroit this past week. He was polishing up his cars he had there. Guess what vendor was next to them? Wizards. I didnt believe a wash would make that much difference, but it does. On both my truck and trailer I use Wizards wash, Shine Master wax, and inbetween my once a year wax jobs on both I use Wizards Mist and Shine.

Sure, but really, this is an HTT RV. Is concourse grade really required? We aren't winning awards here, just making the tree sap easier to wipe off and extending the life of the walls a bit.

Oh, it will extend the life of walls, it will make sap and bugs easier to remove, it won't shrivel up your decals, and if awards were given at the campground entrance, it would win.

All kidding aside, its just a really good product, easy to use with great results.

This is true. For me, it's that I'm lazy!! With the wax I use, I can get two years out of it. That's all. Normal washing when it get dirty. Roof and side bunk ends are what takes the time now.

Go to a boat place and get a good UV rated wax. McGuire makes one.

I am waxing my 23B now. I have been looking at products and found that Meguires has a marine and boat line of products. It really depends on the condition, age, care, the unit has had in past. I would guess most need a minor oxidation step first Meguires#49, then a UV protection wax second Meguires#50. I also use a spray wax several time a year as well for in between maintenance. I find that keeping up with it is much easier if you follow the correct steps. It is easier to maintain with simple follow up, and a full waxing twice a year, instead of having to remove oxidation and waxing once it has started oxidizing. Many units are also white in color, much harder to see the oxidation. Most people think it is already clean, when in fact it is not as good of a finish as you could have, and protection from UV is not there.

The sun is very rough on RV's, that's why covers with good UV protection are so helpful.
