WDH Trunion Spring Bracket dilema

I'm x-posting this in towing and in this hybrid forum as it applies to both.

I received my WDH today, and went to put it on the trailer (x17z) only to find that the bracket for the LP Gas is right where the trunion spring bracket needs to go. Moving the trunion spring bracket to the available space means it can't be put into the locked position because of the Gas tanks.

I think the solution is either raise the LP brackets to give clearance, or drill the LP bracket THROUGH the trunion spring bracket (so one sits on top of the other).

Anyone else run into this?

(large image here - you can see the LP bracket preventing the trunion being further to the right and the gas tank getting in the way of the trunion bracket snapping all the way back !)
