Weekend Or Winter

My wife and I always took the kids all over the country for there summer vacations and two weekends per month. The grew up married and on there owns now. Mom and I do not like the summer crowds so we wait for fall and camp a few weeks. Then we go to Florida to escape the snow and fold weather. We live in our trailer for three months. How do the new RV people use there trailers. Weekends, lengthy stay or just for vacation?

Were still part of the working crowd. We tend to camp 2 weekends a month. Then add a few 1 to 2 week long trips. Every few years we go for 3 weeks. Right now our season starts in May, and ends around Halloween

We both can work from home or the road. Our youngest is off to collage this fall. He has had a busy schedule of sports, scouts and other activities, and we have been active parents. So we expect starting probably in the spring, to go out for weeks at a time, if we can figure out a rock solid internet and cell coverage. We like remote camping, that commonly means no to poor cell coverage.

We both work as well. I've worked from home since 2017, but am on Zoom calls training clients all day. My wife works from home 3-5 days per week (her boss is flexible). It would not work so well in the camper with me talking and her concentrating--she would need a separate space to focus without hearing me in the background. Like JOF member jagiven, my twin 11 year old boys are in Scouts BSA (they just earned Tenderfoot!) and I'm an Assistant Scoutmaster, so that takes up at least 1 weekend a month and a week during the summer.

Around here the camping season lasts from April to October and we did 9 weekends each year for the last 3 years. We usually do a 1-2 week trip in the camper every summer and another one during spring break in the car as the weather then is too uncertain for my towing comfort.
