What can I use "303" on?
In preparation to give my X23B a good cleaning before putting it away for winter I bought a gallon of 303 protectant. My thoughts were to wash the entire thing with Meguires car wash and maybe use simple green on anything stubborn like the roof. I was planning to wax the body of the trailer and use the 303 on anything rubber. My question is can I use it on the exterior of the tent ends and/or the roof membrane? I've heard good things about 303, but I'm not sure what all I can use it for.
Thanks

I used the 303 on the exterior vinyl and my goodness what a difference. My tent ends vinyl seemed a little "dry". Now they seem moisturized and new.

I figured it would probably work well for the tent ends. I'm just not sure if I could, or should, use it on the roof. I read some other posts that said to make sure of which roof material you have, but I can't seem to find anything in my owners manual about it. It just mentions how to clean the roof. There is nothing mentioned about any UV protectant.

303 would make the roof very "VERY" slick and you really don't need to treat it, that is per the manufacturer.

I've used '303' on my TT's Filon sidewalls and slide seals for years..., great UV protection product.

It has the added benefit of protecting the material from harmful UV damage.
Next time you think about it, take off the inside trim panel for your AC. Inside the opening, you'll see where the roof membrane wraps down into the opening, where the hole is cut for the AC unit. See if you can find an edge where you can see the back of the membrane, if it is the same color as the front of the membrane (white), they you have a TPO roof, likely made by Alpha-Ply, if it is black on the back, you have EPDM roof membrane.

Thanks, I'll do that. So if I'm able to determine which membrane I have, is there any protectant that is recommended? Or, should I just try to keep it clean?

I have Alpha-Ply and my plan is just to keep it clean.
IIRC, you can get a protectant from Camping World (or wherever) to use on rubber roofs, but I'm not sure about Alpha-Ply. Most of the documents I've read about Alpha-Ply say NOT to use protectant because the membrane is naturally resistant to UV damage, and it would be a waste at best. If you find you have Alpha-Ply, just google them and call to find out; I've heard their customer service reps are pretty helpful. Their website also has information on the "care and feeding" of your roof.
You could also call Jayco with your VIN and find out specifically which roof you have, that would be very helpful in your research.

Thanks Camper_bob! I checked under the AC when I got home from work today and it is white on both sides. I'll look at Alpha Ply's website for their care instructions and keep the 303 away from it. I'll just use it on the tent ends, plastic, and rubber.
