What kind of tote for our X23B???

Hey Gang....

I was on another forum and a question was raised that I never though of before about our Jayco hybrids. In particular the X23B, but I would imagine other Jayco hybrid owners would deal with this as well. BTW, here is the link that I am referring to:
http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fu...d/26868900.cfm

Anyway, I'm looking for a tote for the black/grey water tanks. But since our hybrids are fairly low to the ground some totes won't fit! Some think that this was/is a Jayco design flaw and some Jayco owners had to resort to lift kits, larger tires, etc. Someone posted a pic of a Barker 15 gallon low slung tote, but I was wanting something larger.

Any Jayco hybrid TT owners use a tote? What and how do you use yours?

I use a 30 gallon Tote & Store tank that is "too tall". I only use it for gray water and when I empty the holding tank all but the last little bit left in the hose goes into the tote tank. No different than water going through a drain trap on your sink.

We did make a lift kit for our 19H, we also use the plastic levelers to raise the tt & I still have to dig a hole to lower the tote, oh well. Larry

I have a small 15 gallon (?? got it used at no cost) tote that seems like it would work fine. But I have never had my tanks full to a point that I had to empty them while at the site yet. I think some of that will depend on the lay of the land at the campsite. I figured I will give it a trial this spring, as I do know that I need to use it while we are out west this summer.

It would not be hard for a tote manufacture to make a low profile unit. It may not hold a large volume, but with a HTT your tanks are not nearly as large either.

If you find something let us know.

Ja...... This is what I found, it's a 15 gallon tote from Barker. The low profile looks like it would fit under our hybrids. They also have an optional handle clamp that would make towable on to a TV hitch.

Here's a pic of what I've found, Tweety's has it for around $122, the optional tow handle for an extra $15....:

Mine does not look like that, but that would work great, and is what I was thinking! Now you will need to do a mod to make the wheels hold up as you tow it to the dump station.

What I need to do is make a short hose to connect to both ends, so that I do not have to deal with that long snake as I make the transfer.

If you pick it up, report back on how well it works.

I use a Thetford Smart Tote when needed....I'd bet my 154BH is just as low or lower than the X23B. The hose feeds into the tank from the bottom.
