Oh boy! There are a ton of posts related to this. I suggest you use the 'search' function for this site. You'll probably be busy reading for hours, if not days!

I use a wash and wax combo and wash the trailer several times each year.

Depends on your sidewall material, but I had once preffered the bottle and now have gone to the paste versions. The pastes just last longer IMHO. Personally I like the polymers as they can go on in the full sun and seem to hold up better than the older recipes.
I have had good results with Nu Finish, but last purchase went to Meguires 2.0 and that is my new favorite. Expensive, but it holds up all season. Even on dark colors.

Any good wax that does not leave that ugly "white" mark on rubber or plastic is good. There are some synthetic waxes that advertise that they don't leave white residue; this would be acceptable to me.

Go to Amazon.com to purchase a bottle of Collinite 845, it is a liquid wax that I learned about on a Ford F150 online site. Members of that online community raved about the product, so I gave it a try and the results are crazy amazing. Use it on everything including the glass.

If anyone purchases this product, send me a private message so I can explain how to use it. The stuff is outstanding.

Any wax with carnuba would be good, as it has the highest resistance against heat melt down. Most waxes get "soft" in the summer sun, and dirt/dust settles on this waxed surface. When the surface cools, the dirt and dust can get trapped in the wax, dulling the shine, and requiring a clay bar to remove.
