Where do you store the black water hose...No bumper here :(

I have an issue with where the best place to store the black water hose after dumping. I have a 2017 Jayco X17Z. I put the Valterra EZ couplers on the hose so I don't have to mess with the fittings each dump(You screw them into each end). However, the OEM storage on the side of the trailer only fits the hose. It will not fit any of the attachments so I either have to unscrew them from the hose each time (then find a place to store the attachments) or cap the ends of each of the hose and place in a black trash bag.

What systems do you have in place? What can you recommend? Best practices?

Buy a tub and coil them inside.

4”dia. PVC pipe mounted crosswise under the trailer. Cheap and effective. Your local hardware store has a ton of it.

I use a 5 gallon bucket, but I really like this 5" fence post idea... would be easy to adapt it to a trailer.

A 5" would be better than a 4" post for me.

This guy really did a good job with this.

Hose in the bumper, attachments in a zip lock bag which is in a crate with gloves, supports, and other dumping kind of stuff.

Not sure about the 2017 model, but the 2019 has an all but useless bumper that at least held my pvc fencepost for the hose.

I just put mine in the bed of my truck. The sun dries it out and it never stinks.

Thanks for the picture. How did you hold the end caps on to the fence post? Did you use gorilla glue and place metal/magenets like the youtube video?

I glued one end with pvc glue. For the other end, I drilled some small holes and used bungee cords with hooks on the end. You can see them in the picture, Seems to hold it well enough and easy to get into.

A little late to the party, 5" fence post attached under the faux bumper of my x17z, holds 20ft of rhinoflex and the clear elbow. Passenger side end cap is held on by 2 self tapping screws, the drivers side I used 2 chest latches to hold the end cap on, the part on the cap I used rivets, I drilled the holes with the cap on so the rivets actually lock into the holes in the fence post, the latch part I attached using t nuts. For me on top of the bumper would block my license plate.

I used a 5” Vinyl fence post. I attached it to the portion of the stock bumper I left on the camper. I use a 6” 1/4” bolt With a wing nut to hold the caps on it, I push it up from the bottom, and that way the wingnut vibrates tight rather than loose and off.

In a plastic storage tub with latching lid that fits in the small storage compartment on a Greyhawk. Tub holds two sections of slinky, curved discharge end and two clear segments, a 45-degree and a straight one. Keeps the compartment clean and easy to hose out the tub.

I've got a storage basket in the back of my truck. Since I dump the gray water after the black I've never had any gross smell from keeping the hose in the back of the truck.

Can anyone suggest a way to attach this fence post idea to the bumper with out drilling? I obviously don't want the thing flying off on the highway but also prefer not to drill.

Put in tub and store in bay with black water flush hose. Leave tub open to air dry. Spray with bleach water every time we use hose.

Enjoy the journey
