Where is the leak? ??

Had rain yesterday and today when packing up. Noticed water on the little "shelf" in front if the mattress this morning. Everything else was dry. Figured one of the kids laid something there. Packed up in the rain and came home. Noticed water in the same spot when we got home. It is right between the couch and the bed.
Looked under the storage area and the wood was wet also. I always look in the storage area after we camp and had never noticed any leak before. It was also wet under the fabric piece that covers the hinge & is held by Velcro.
Could that come from packing up wet in the rain?
Also, how do y'all handle the little corner piece where the fabric meets the camper at the bottom? Maybe I had that folded or something. I will try to attach a couple pics.

After going out and inspecting it closer, I think I have found the issue. Looks like the canvas is pulling away from the camper. And it looks like it was an issue from the get go at the factory. There are 4 screws on the one side and only 2 on the other. You can see the daylight from the inside and you can see the "dips" from the outside. Obviously this should be a warranty issue but with the lack of answers I have received from my dealer I really don't want to deal with them.

Any thoughts on the corner where the fabric meets the camper?

I would call Jayco, I would also tell them about the dealer. I've had to do it before, they will take care of it.

X2. Considering it's still under warranty, I wouldn't mess around with trying to solve this leak on your own. Jayco should handle it and are usually pretty good about standing behind their product. Insist that the dealer get the warranty work done, or find one who will. We have a 2004 hybrid and have not had any water leak issues neither while camping nor travelling.

Are you asking what to do when closing up the tent end? In that case, I just push that material in so it does not interfere with the black bulb seal.

I was curious as to how others situate that piece when it is open.

Thanks for the replies. I was definitely leaning towards contacting Jayco as opposed to going through the dealer due to the bad experience witht the dealer. Just curious if others had done this.

I still think this is the thing to do, let Jayco take care of it.

Thanks again guys. I will contact Jayco. I do have another question. We have several more trips planned this month. I fear that if I call them they will want me to bring the camper in somewhere and we will be without a camper. I am thinking about waiting until the end of our "camping season" before calling. Any opinions on that?

I would call them now and let them know whats wrong with the trailer, When I called them about ours, I told them that I had a few more trips planned. They told me to continue using it as long as I needed it, after we was done camping last year we took it in for repair.

It's best to get it on record with Jayco, they was real good to work with us, I've never had any trouble with Jayco, it's always been with the dealer but Jayco can and will take care of that.

Happy Camping!!!!

I noticed you aren't too far from our area and just wanted to mention that since we bought our X17Z in May we have found some items we wanted taken care of under warranty and our dealership has been wonderful. The camper has been in and out of there several times as they worked around our camping reservations. We bought ours from Berglund Outdoors in Troutville, VA and so far have had great service from them. Their service manager, David, and Sales Manager, Phillip, are both excellent to work with.
