X17 out of commission

Bearing blew out on our way home from an 11 day trip. No one got hurt, and everything is repairable, still sucks though 😕.

How did you know it was going bad? Did you have any control difficulties, noises, smoke, etc? A guy was admiring our X17Z at a campsite a couple months back, but made a comment about never wanting to be pulling a single axle trailer when a tire or wheel goes bad. It left me wondering if it’s something I should be concerned about.

We actually did not hear, see or feel anything, a passing car waved us down , and we pulled over just in time to lose the wheel at a low speed, there was a bit of fire(which is probably what they saw) which I blew out with little effort. Bearings were lubed up in May, was really not expecting it on a trailer that is only 4 years old.

Well after about 2-1/2 months at the dealership, the X17Z is back on the road, warranty covered pretty much everything, complete new axle!! Just in time to get it ready for winter, lol
