x17z bed clamps

I have a new X17Z and enjoy it tremendously.

But to me it looks like the clamps that secure the bed platforms while traveling, hold on with their finger nails. See attached picture. (For some reason the picture is rotated CCW by 90 degrees)

Is this the way it is supposed to be?

That is basically how it secures the hatch. The “Roto-Vise” latch as it’s called, should pinch the door at the middle of its roller. From your picture it looks like you might be able to adjust it just slightly. But how it is, looks fine to me.
